Why Ask Why
Not everything in life is black and white. It’s in these gray areas that project managers work, and excel, in every day. As a Project Manager, it is important to make things as black and white as possible so that tasks and projects get completed effectively and efficiently, but working in the gray can allow PMs and their teams to try new tactics that can end up being even more effective or efficient.
Organizations try to eliminate some uncertainty new project managers face by creating standard methodologies and processes, creating a consistent approach to how projects are managed.
A recent article from ProjectManagement.com said that “At the very least, Project Managers should be consciously thinking about whether they need to adjust the approach for the unique situation they are facing. New PMs don’t have the experience to know when they need to make those adjustments; to figure that out they need.”
